God placed it on Ms. Paula's heart in 1998 to start a private school, Christian Victory Academy. She has served on the Advisory Board for Florida Coalition of Christian Private Schools Accreditation (FCCPSA) for ten years and served on the Panel of Experts at the Florida Parent Educators Association (FPEA) Convention. She opened and managed a homeschool bookstore and led a support group in Orlando for over two years before starting CVA. She is considered an expert in her field. Ms. Paula homeschooled two of her three children for over 14 years. She has three children and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Jan completed her A.S. in business and went on to manage multiple different stores including educational materials. Between classroom teaching and homeschooling her own two daughters Janice has been teaching more than fifteen years. She is currently the high school administrator in addition to her teaching duties at CVA. She and her husband Keith, who serves on the CVA Board, have been married 45 years.
Mrs. Lynn was a homeschool mom for over 13 years. She has been involved in every aspect of CVA since 1999. She has been a teacher for over 20 years and is CVA's Elementary and Middle School Administrator. She and her husband Joe have two children and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Shaina graduated from CVA in 2005 and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from UCF in 2011. She has taught math classes at CVA for over ten years and is CVA's Senior Web Administrator. Mrs. Shaina also serves as the Secretary on CVA's Board of Directors. Mrs. Shaina and her husband Eric have one son.
Mrs. Kariti graduated from CVA in 2006 and Valencia in 2007, earning her A.A. in English. Later she went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from UCF in 2020 as well as a Certificate in Substitute Teaching. She has taught subjects ranging from Math and Science to History and English as well as Visual Arts in numerous grades for a total of 12 years. She is CVA’s Scholarship Administrator and runs her own Jewelry business. Mrs. Kariti and her husband, Tyler, have been married for 12 years.
Mrs. Deborah has been a part of the CVA family since 2017 as a parent, and has recently joined our staff. She obtained her degree from Drake School of Manhattan, in health allied science, 2002. She has over 5 years of experience teaching middle and elementary-aged children. Deborah is married and has two children, one of her children has attended CVA for 4 years. She also serves as a choir member and a greeter at her local church. She believes that Jesus plus education equals success.
Mrs. Lydia was a homeschool mom for two years. She has a Bachelor’s in Psychology and is currently working on completing her teaching degree. She is a first year elementary teacher at CVA. Mrs. Lydia and her husband have one son.
Mrs. Haley's family has been part of the CVA family for five years. She has taught Middle School science for the past two years. She has her degree from the University of Washington in Natural Science for Education. She met her husband here in Orlando working with Campus Crusade for Christ. They have 2 grown children, 1 Middle Schooler and a mini schnauzer. After college she taught 2nd grade for 5 years and then as her children have grown, taught K, 2nd, 3rd & 4th grades part time.
Ms. Sands graduated from Colonial High School in 1969. She is a mother, grandmother,and great grandmother! Ms. Sands retired from Lake Silver Elementary School (OCPS) after 32 years of teaching. She has a special place in her heart for special needs children. Ms. Sands loves God and what He is doing in her life.
Mrs. Schkerke joined the staff at CVA in 2015 after retiring from Orange County Public Schools where she had spent 15 years teaching English at Boone High School. Prior to that she had spent 10 years teaching all subject areas in K-6 at a private Day Care. Mrs. Schkerke has been married to her husband, Edwin, for 26 years. She has a beautiful step-daughter and three grandchildren.
Mr. Keith has a M.A. majoring in Bible. After graduating from Bob Jones University he taught in Christian High Schools for 3 years, teaching Bible, Math and Computer Science. Since then he has been a software development for several different companies including Siemens Energy for 18 years. Keith and his wife Jan have been married 45 years and have two grown daughters, both of whom graduated from CVA.
